Giant granny square

Hi all! I hope you all had fabulous weekend. For Americans we had our four day weekend because of the Veterans Day. Anyways, I started my granny square last week after a couple of weeks of thinking of color combo from my yarn stash. Then, I found myself doing granny square. Well, it work out good because I got to use my yarns that are in different colors and some left over from previous projects. Right now I am on 42nd rows and still going. I am thinking to stop on the 50th rows or 60. Next will be thinking again! For border! LOL! I need to do some thinking in few days. What do you think will be the best border for this granny square? Please help me T_T ……….

Do you have Unfinished object?  While cleaning my boxes I found few unfinished objects and found 10 African flowers. Then, I stopped cleaning and started crocheting and come up with these cute African flowers bag. Of course, I lined the bag.

To end this entry, the red bag I made for my mother in law for Christmas. I added cheerful flower from Teresa’s video on YouTube.

I am wishing everyone a good day! and happy hooking!

african flowers cushions

As you can see I fell in love with African flowers. LOL!  I have old pillows that I was about to dispose but I decided to recycle them. So, I decided to use my old and new yarns to make throw covers for my old pillows. The purple is small and it made up with 15 hexagon African flowers and 6 half African flowers. The red is big and made up of 24 hexagons and 8 half African flowers. My husband asked me why did I make different colors well, the purple yarns are left over from blanket I made for my best friend. I am going to make another red to match with the big red throw.

Happy crocheting to all!

african flower baby blanket

I made this African flower blanket for my best friend. It was made of 42 African flowers and 7 half flowers for the sides. The measurements: length is 38 inches and width of 37 inches.
I read about the African flowers in few blogs. So, I decided to make one since I have already made baby booties for my best friend. Also, they are moving to Iowa from the Philippines. As you know there is a huge difference in the weather between the two countries. So, I think this cute little blanket will help a little bit.

The only regret I had after connecting the blocks was I did not weave the tails as I go. It took me couple of days just to weave tails and making sure that the back of it was clean.

There you go my first blanket project.

She is expecting a baby girl first week next month. I hope she will like the color selections. I am not very good in combining colors but my mother thinks the color combo was okay.
Happy crocheting to all!

California

I’m back in Heidelberg again after a week of nice sun in San Diego. Our flight was terrible though because it had been delayed for five hours going there and six hours delayed coming back here! I hate you American airlines lol! Anyways it was a fun trip for me, I hook up with my friend and we went to see Hollywood, drove around Beverly Hills, walked along the Santa Monica beach and ate at Philippines famous…..  Jollibee! It’s a famous fast food chain in my country. It was a blast! I was happy to see my friend and spent time with her just like what we used to do in Seoul.
A view from Pacific beach in San Diego.

The water was so cold! (we'll at least for me it was) but see the surfers loved it.

The famous Walk of Fame in Hollywood.

And of course JOLIBBEE! yeah baby!

A view from a mall in Hollywood.
Santa Monica beach.
This the longest bridge i have ever seen in my life, it was about two miles going to Coronado Island. Oh gosh i can't remember the name! oh well...
I think this is the Seafort Village still in San Diego.
Downtown San Diego.

It was nice to see different view after being home all the time. Plus it was a nice escape and feels the sun before it get so cold in here.
Anyways, I finally over come my fear and signed up for the English test. Now, I have couple of months to prepare. Anxiety is kicking in! Good luck to me.
I hope everyone had a good start of September, well I did! In my country September first is the start of the countdown to Christmas ^_^.  Who is excited for Christmas?
That’s all for now!

Welcome September!

September is here!  I hope everyone had fabulous a August and looking forward for another month like I do. In few days, there will be another year addition to my age.  Anyways, after doing a lot of FBB I got addicted to yarns. I have bought about ten different colors and started watching Teresa’s videos on Youtube. I have spent the last couple weeks of august just crocheting, following Teresa’s tutorials and adding my own idea into the patterns.
First, I got addicted to cheerful flower so, I made few.

I added pin to the cheerful flower to make it a brooch.

I also followed Teresa's video the Mary Jane slipper but added a little detail to the next one.

Then, This baby booties design was my idea, I love the color and the style. I wanted to add buttons but my husband said buttons will be hazard for babies because they put everything that their hands can grab in their mouth. So, I crocheted a ring and filled with single crochet. The baby shirt above i bought in Paris during my visit.
They're are for my best friend's baby girl! we are going to welcome her in November, I can't wait to see these cute baby booties and slippers on her.  oh well...I have to get back on my reading and time to keep my yarns away from my sight ^_^. for awhile.

And oh, my sisters loved the FBB and one of them asked for another two for her mother-in-law and grandma. They gonna have to wait until Christmas because my husband asked me last night to make him a silk-wool scarf. I am still thinking if i would learn to knit or just crochet a scarf but  first i need to at least finish four chapters of the book  that i need to read in two weeks! Wish me luck!
I wish you a good day!

FBB (fat bottom bag)

After  I have passed the driving license test I have decided to finish my fat bottom bag because I don’t have to worry about the test , plus my sister in Maryland sent four pair of bag handles. My mother also sent some so, I have plenty of bag handles.
I also bought a sewing machine: P because I wanted to add lining into my FBB, then I’ve spent my Thursday just to trying to remember my sewing skills that I have learned years ago! Wow that was when I was 16 and I will be turning 26 next month. Whew! Yes, that was a little work for me. So, I had to call my mother and asked her to get on Skype to show her the sewing machine and ask her to refresh my memory. Don’t get me wrong the machine has its manual but my mother can explain good using our own language.
It was Friday; I finally refreshed my sewing skills so I started to sew the lining and spent the whole day sewing and crocheting.
This white bag is mine :-)

 I added inside pocket too:-)
This blue bag is for my sister in MD.
I added a little detail too.
And, this green bag is for my sister in Florida.
I just love doing FBB! This one is for my mother-in-law in NC.
Tada! four beautiful fat bottom bags.
I fell in love with these bags because they're easy to make and you also can find a video tutorial in youtube on how to make FBB.
happy crocheting everyone!
